15
minutes 34 seconds / 1999
What happens
when a restless person is forced to sit down? How does the need to move
manifest itself in the body? How long is long?
15 minutes and 34 seconds consists of seven portraits of buzy and
stressed out women in their 30´s. The photographs have been taken
with long exposure times varying from 37 seconds to nearly five minutes,
which means that the model has posed for the camera longer than usually.
The name of the work is the total time the women sat still.
The images are chromochenic color prints, their size is 50 cm x 50 cm
and they are mounted on aluminium. The work has been shown in Sweden and
in four exhibitions in Finland.
